The anti-fan cafe members stated their reason for creating the fan cafe; the members were too young to be commercialized.

The 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards, MAMA, was hit hard as well. Most of the artists invited did not attend, such as SM Entertainment artists, Cube Entertainment artists, and more. The show was dominated by JYP and YG. Since the artists who did not show up could not receive their awards, they were given to other winners, making the results a bit off from other year end award shows.

The 2010 Melon Music Awards was hosted by Song Joong Ki ("Sungkyunkwan Scandal"). However, his performance was deemed to be not acceptable by netizens. He later apologized for his use of informal speech throughout the show. It was also noticed that the winners were available online on the Melon Music Awards official site, before the show even began.

The 2010 SBS Gayo Daejun was faced with many harsh criticisms. It all began with the cold. Although the singers practiced all day, they were without heat after 8AM. During the show, there were many microphone problems both on stage for singers and also the ability to hear staff voices in the background during the performances. Additionally, the ending of the first half of the show was not calculated right and as a result, Supreme Team and Tiger JK's stage was cut off in the middle, leaving viewers to watch a commercial break. Finally, netizens complained that the show was YG biased based on the amount of air time they received. G-Dragon, T.O.P., SE7EN, and the 2NE1 and Kim Gun Mo collaboration stages received a total of 30 minutes, while JYP and 2PM received 9. Girl group of the year, SNSD, received a mere 6 minutes, and veteran singer BoA only had 7 minutes. In the end, SBS refuted these accusations saying that because of the songs that were sung, the performances seemed longer.

Conclusion
As with any year, there were lots of controversies, big and small. However, this year especially, there were many regulations imposed. Entertainment companies were forced to obtain special permission to employ anyone under the age of 15. Additionally, there were many regulations placed on the outfits worn on music shows. This came after outcries from netizens about short skirts and profanity on shirts. Countless entertainment companies and artists were slammed with plagiarism controversies. The biggest plagiarism involved Bahnus for Lee Hyori's album.
