The top three entertainment agencies have all recently announced that their artists will be making their comeback in January. All of the artists have been away from the Korean entertainment industry for nearly two years and have not released any new albums so far.
YG Entertainment announced that Big Bang's maknae, Seungri, will be making a solo comeback after his debut hit, "Strong Baby", which was released at the beginning of 2009. JOO made her debut with the ballad, "Because of a Man", two years ago and has not released any new material since then, not including her OST tracks. She will be returning with her new mini-album, "Heart Made". SM Entertainment has also announced TVXQ's comeback with members Yunho and Changmin.
There is usually a down time after the annual end-of-the-year music festivals are broadcast, but it doesn't seem the case this year. Within the first week of the new year, JOO, Seungri, and TVXQ will release their albums and single.
After G-Dragon and T.O.P.'s duo promotions, YG Entertainment planned Seungri's own solo promotions in January. This has been planned ahead in anticipation to Big Bang's big comeback in 2011 as a group. Seungri succeeded with "Strong Baby" in 2009 and first performed at the 2008 SBS Gayo Daejun. He captures fans hearts with his hidden chocolate abs and smoking charisma. Seungri has already recorded his music video and is prepared for a full comeback.
JOO made her debut two years ago and has recently revealed teaser images for her upcoming mini-album. She is seen on a windowsill with a sad face as she holds a handgun. At the bottom of the site, a picture of 2PM's Chansung is arousing fans' curiosity.
It's been two years since TVXQ released "Mirotic". The album was the most sold album in 2008 with over 500,000 units sold. The CF for TVXQ's upcoming album, "Why (Keep Your Head Down)" is expected to be released on tonight's SBS Gayo Daejun, and will also appear on KBS and MBC for the next three days. The special edition, which includes a 100-page photobook, will be released January 5th and the normal edition, which will have a bonus song, will be released January 12th.
