[NEWS][12.12.10] Girls Generation and KARA see "sudden rise" on Google Japan

On the 10th of December, Google Japan released their keyword search rankings for the year 2010. Under the category of “Sudden Rise Keyword” were two familiar Korean group names who just started promotions in the country.

With the search query 'iPad' who topped the list, Girls Generation and Kara made it to the ranking's top ten, placing eighth and ninth respectively. Both of the girl groups crossed over to the Japanese market later this year, immediately debuting on Oricon's Daily Rankings.

Girls Generation has hit the charts for their two singles 'Genie' and 'Gee' while Kara has seen success with their song 'Jumping'. With more and more Korean acts paving their way to the new market, it seems that Korea's leading girl groups had a good run with their Japanese promotions.

Congratulations to the girls!
